A Purpose

Why Treble R?

Based in Fritwell, North Oxfordshire, Treble R was established to satisfy three complimentary needs;

First and foremost to offer skilled, efficient and friendly making, repair and alteration services to the local area.

Secondly, to allow a rewarding outlet for years of valuable skills and knowledge I’ve worked and studied hard to attain.

Finally, wherever possible to preserve valuable resources and sometimes even the memories attached to them.

The mission is simple – Make Things Better!

The Journey Here

My journey started in my dad’s workshop, taking things apart to work out how they worked and then, slightly more slowly, reassembling them to working order following my investigations (often with a little help!).

A 4 year British Aerospace engineering apprenticeship followed by an engineering degree led to a career working for Aston Martin, Ford Motor Company and a few smaller specialist companies with involvement in novel projects from Thrust SSC (worlds fastest car) to supercars and electric vehicles. It was during this time, as a hobby, I developed a passion for woodwork. Ultimately this led to further study, an award for furniture making, and a 20 year career where I’ve able to create handcrafted modern and traditional furniture, build beautiful bespoke boats and work with priceless objects in the Ashmolean museum.

In all my positions I’ve been very lucky to work with and, more importantly, learn from many fantastically talented people.

Everything I’ve done and enjoyed so much required problem solving – how do I best achieve the desired outcome using my knowledge and skills to create elegant solutions and happy customers.
